Rabinsider is a local guide and directory for Rab Island. This page explains the basic privacy, cookie, photo, and listing rules for using the site.
Data we collect
When you submit the claim listing form we collect: owner name, email, phone (optional), business name, request type, and your notes or message. We use this only to reply to you, verify your business profile, and offer the matching service.
Outbound click tracking
When you tap a phone, WhatsApp, website, or Google Maps link on a listing page, we record an anonymous click event with the listing slug, section (beaches, eat, stay, rent, explore), channel, language, page referrer, and the User-Agent header from your browser. We use this to measure interest in each listing, prevent abuse of the platform, and decide which listings deserve more editorial work. We do not store your IP address in this table.
Guest inquiry submissions
When you send a request through the on-page inquiry form on a listing, your inquiry passes through Rabinsider — we receive it and then forward it to the listing owner. We store: your name, email (optional), phone (optional, but at least one of email or phone is required), preferred dates, party size, free-text message, the language of the page, the page referrer, and the User-Agent header. We use these fields only to respond to you, forward the inquiry to the owner, measure how often listings receive serious interest, and prevent abuse such as bot spam.
Free listing readiness report
When you unlock the full readiness report on a listing's mini-report page, we collect: email, phone (optional), business name, business slug, language, page referrer, and User-Agent. This is used to follow up about the report, suggest a matching service, and prevent abuse.
Where the data is stored
Submissions may be stored in Supabase (our database provider) and an owner notification email may be sent through Resend, where these services are configured. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@rabinsider.com.
Cookies and analytics
We also process basic analytics data, cookie consent status, and page visits. Analytics loads only after you accept cookies. If you decline, analytics scripts are not loaded.
Listings
Business listings are compiled from public information, owner-provided information, local research, and approved third-party sources. Owners can ask us to correct or remove inaccurate information.
Photos
Some listing photos may be served through Google Places with attribution. Owner-submitted and local photos are used only with permission.
